The Role


We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time fixed term contract for an experienced nurse to join us in delivering high quality community mental health care within the North West of Hertfordshire. Our services cover the localities of Dacorum. The area is well served with transport links to historic Hertfordshire and its glorious countryside as well as into London and beyond.

We have a vacancy in our multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health Team based in Hemel Hempstead serving the needs of people within these diverse localities.

We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate nurses who hold a strong belief in recovery for people with severe and enduring mental health problems. Our Community Mental Health Nurses hold a caseload and undertake the role of care coordinator for those with varied complex mental health and social care needs. They will also support our clinics and administer LAI depot injections on a regular basis.

You will also provide assessment and specific interventions to meet the needs of service users, their carers and families. It is expected that you will be a flexible practitioner who enjoys new challenges in meeting the developing needs of the service and our service users.

An excellent understanding of the issues people with mental health needs may experience is essential for this post as is a good understanding of Care Programme Approach, Care Management and Safeguarding. You will carry out interventions to a standard that ensures safe and effective care and complies with the NMC Code.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of 1,034 and a maximum payment of £1,791 per annum (pro rata where applicable).
