Specialty Doctor in Neurology – part time/ full time work pattern considered.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to advertise a new post of Specialty Doctor in Neurology at Darent Valley Hospital.

The successful applicant will join the Adult Neurology Team at a time of significant development in the service, with the creation of inpatient beds. This post is fulltime, but applications for less than full time work would be considered.

The applicant would work alongside a specialist registrar to support the acute neurology service and inpatient liaison under Consultant supervision. They will have an opportunity to develop expertise in assessment and management of a wide range of neurological conditions, with a chance to develop an interest in neurology sub-specialties including, epilepsy, MS, Parkinsons disease, headache, motor neuron disease and cognitive neurology. This can be discussed at interview.

The Applicant will be encouraged to incorporate their experience into their training portfolio.

The post may include participation in on call rota for medical registrar and the current General Medical Registrar on Call Rota is 1 in 10 intensity.

This post will be paid on the Specialty grade. Applicants must have at least 4 years full time post graduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis). They are expected to be able to work with remote supervision when needed.
