Following a successful pilot project with Dementia UK, Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust are excited to be able to offer a substantive Band 6 Admiral Nurse post within the High Weald, Lewes and Havens areas.

The primary focus of the Admiral Nurse role is to provide and influence the clinical leadership and delivery of person-centred and relationship-centred dementia care, under the supervision of a Band 7 Admiral Nurse Clinical Team Lead. The Band 6 Admiral Nurse will deliver evidence-based dementia care and will improve the experience of carers and families affected by dementia across High Weald, Lewes and the Havens by providing support, expert guidance, and practical solutions.

Dementia UK will support you to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse through monthly clinical supervision and practice and professional development. You will become part of a network of Admiral Nurses, and will have the opportunity to access relevant courses and develop professionally, informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework

The successful applicants will be NMC-registered with post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia and their carers/families in different settings, along with formal knowledge of dementia acquired through clinical post-graduate training/education.
