An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to take up the position of IPC Nurse Specialist as a secondment to lead on healthcare associated infection reductions including MRSA, Clostridium difficile and the gram negative E.coli strategy.

This is an exciting role to help maintain a zero tolerance of HCAI's and implement a health promotion up stream approach to changing behaviours to prevent HCAI's with specific emphasis on E.coli's and the existing work on the 'I-spy E.coli' reduction project.

The successful post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPCT) responsible for a small number of staff and leading the programme to prevent and control healthcare associated infections (HCAIs) in Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust.

Effective communication skills are essential, as is the ability to develop good working relationships with staff at all levels, internal and external to Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust. We are seeking an individual who has experience of IPC in an acute or community setting and is familiar with surveillance and the root cause analysis process.
