You will provide a high standard of nursing care to an identified group of children and young people with complex health needs and life limiting illnesses at Hannah House.
You will work along said qualified staff nurses and Associate practitioners. Other healthcare support workers and Parent/Carers.
As a Senior health care worker you will have responsibility for carrying out an agreed plan of day to day care for the children and young people that attend respite. This also includes children and young people on ventilators.
You will have or work towards gaining your Healthcare certificate. You will also work through a list of competencies specific to the role.
You will also on occasions be asked to help out in the other children's services. Continuing care and inclusion nursing

The successful candidate will be sociable, confident and outgoing. You will need to be able to work as part of a team or on their own. They will also be a good communicator
Duties will include:- Following the individualised care plan to delivery all their everyday needs.

For example
Feeding both orally and enterally.
Care of a gastrostomy/Jejunostomy
Hygiene needs
Become ventilator competent to enable them to care for a child on a ventilator. This will include understanding all the equipment that enables this to take place and the maintenance of a Traceostomy
Equipment ordering
Updating Care plans
Liaising with parents and other Healthcare professionals
Play.

Reporting incidents to the Senior staff nurse/Staff nurse in charge.
Ensure all training is up to date
To ensure you follow all trust policies and procedures.
