Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust's Estates department provides a wide range of maintenance, operational and project management services throughout the Trust's community settings. The Estates department provides services to its own Trust and, via service level agreements (SLAs), to neighbouring Trusts and other local organisations.

We are looking for a proactive management team player, willing to work flexibly within a dynamic workforce and meet the challenges of an organisation that is very forward-looking and was rated “Good” with “Outstanding” features in its latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

As an Estates Engineering Manager (Electrical), the post holder will work alongside the other Estates Engineering Manager (Mechanical) and be responsible for and provide guidance to the team whilst ensuring the reliability of electrical and engineering infrastructure, systems and equipment. The post holder will be accountable to the Head of Operational Estates and will manage and lead a team of highly technical staff including Estates and Planning Officers to provide an efficient, reliable and reactive maintenance service.

The post holder, though electrically biased, will be expected to have some mechanical experience as they will need to provide cover as and when necessary. They must have a proven track record and experience in LV electrical systems, and be able to provide guidance to the team.

They must be able take up AP (LV) duties and be able to apply a flexible attitude in their approach to delivering a first class service to a forward-looking organisation.

A prerequisite of this role is participating in the management On Call service for which an extra remuneration will be paid.
