Clinical Nurse Specialist HIV – iCaSH Peterborough

 

Band: 6

Salary: £31,365 - £37,890

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 18.75hrs (For part time posts, salary will be pro rata)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist in HIV to provide a high-level quality service to the community who use iCaSH Peterborough’s Services.

 

This is a progressive post which you will be appointed to at band 6 in the first instance. There is a requirement to undertake training as part of the post and an expectation of progression up to band 7 level after completing all competencies.

If you have specialist knowledge, clinical ability and experience of working in the field of Sexual Health and with HIV, are able to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team this may be the job for you.

 

The post is suitable for an individual with contemporary and comprehensive clinical experience of sexual health. You must have strong team-working skills and a keen interest in HIV care and treatment, research, training, education and service development. You should be able to demonstrate an ability to work as an independent practitioner, able to manage a patient case load.

You will be forward thinking and motivated to provide excellent holistic care, finding opportunities to continually improve the care and support we provide through your detailed knowledge of factors influencing HIV care provision.

You will also be keen to develop your leadership skills along with the ability to work with a diverse range of clients in an innovative sexual health and HIV setting.

In return you will join a team of friendly, skilled and experienced Doctors, sexual health, contraception and HIV nurses, HCAs, Nursing Associates, Clinic Assistants and admin staff responsible for delivering a high standard of care to patients.

iCaSH Peterborough deliver services from our purpose-built, accessible hub in Peterborough city centre.

Our clinics are busy, pro-active and client focused. We offer HIV clinics and a limited number of appointments which can be booked on the day for urgent cases. We also have specialist contraception and GUM appointments. Some of our clinics are nurse-led.

Successful applicants to posts at band 6 or above for which a DBS check is required, will be asked to pay for this as a condition of their job offer (£44.00 for an Enhanced Check or £27.00 for a Standard Check). This payment will be deducted from their first month’s salary unless a longer pay back period is agreed with the appointing manager.

This will not apply to successful applicants who are registered with the DBS Update Service and is in possession of the disclosure certificate, for whom an online status check will be undertaken.
