Job Summary

The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care episodes using, wherever possible current evidence-based practice. They will have a wide knowledge of commercially available products and will choose appropriately, both for efficacy and cost effectiveness using evidence and audit in their practice. 

The technician will possess a wide range of skills and knowledge associated with this area of practice and practice autonomously as well as providing leadership within the plaster room. The provision of expert support and guidance to other relevant professionals, departments and services will be required, as well as supporting in other areas of practice such as Theatre, Emergency department, inpatient areas and other areas of Outpatients.

The technician will drive evidence-based change and service improvement ensuring service users receive excellent, individualised care and treatment. The technician will support good governance, including standards of care and incident reporting and investigation.

Knowledge of infection prevention, tissue viability and Health and safety is essential.
