SheffieldChildrensHospital is a specialist paediatric centre. The Pharmacy department provides a progressive pharmacy service to a variety of patients throughout the region, making it a highly rewarding working environment.

We have an excellent opportunity within our friendly department for an enthusiastic and highly motivated assistant to join our team.

With a new aseptic unit due to open by the end of the year the successful candidate will play a part in the validation of the new unit before working in the specialised environment.

The role will involve working in the Aseptic unit and supporting areas including the oncology suite. Cleaning of all isolators and laminar air flow cabinets is required along with general housekeeping in accordance with agreed procedures and frequency.Preparation,making up,labelling and packaging of all aseptically prepared products is a key part of the role. The successful candidate will also have a responsibility to partake in the restocking and stock control within the unit.

To be successful in your application you will have NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills and BTEC level 2 Extended Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent. Ideally you should also have GCSE English and Mathematics to a minimum of Grade C (or equivalent).

Previous experience within a pharmacy environment is essential.

The post holder will be expected to work 5 days out of 7 which will include weekends and participation in the bank holiday rota.

If you have good communication skills, the ability to be accurate and are able to work well independently as well as within a team; then this is the job for you.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
