The Adult Mental Health team has an exciting opportunity for a consultant to join the Trust to work in our 16 bed adult assessment ward. The successful candidates will work alongside a skilled multidisciplinary inpatient team as well as experienced teams of Consultant Psychiatrists who work in the community across all mental health services within the Trust.

The consultant will provide direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment within a biopsychosocial model.  They will also provide psychiatric leadership to the multidisciplinary team and clinical leadership in collaboration with the team leader assuring the involvement of families and carers and wherever possible with the patients consent in treatment planning.

Well-being is a priority for the Trust and it is vitally important to the Medical Management within the Trust that newly recruited colleagues are supported and are able to ‘grow’ professionally. Worcestershire is ideal for those looking for a good work life balance with a number of excellent schools and areas of outstanding natural beauty such as the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds. There are also particularly good road links both to Birmingham, London and the South West.

It is essential you meet the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ criteria for appointment to a consultant post. Consideration will also be given to those applicants looking for flexibility with working arrangements. Development of a special interest will also be encouraged.

Opportunities are available for those who wish to be involved in service leadership and re-design.  Non-clinical interests will be supported in line with Trust strategies. Interest and previous experience in leadership and management would be an advantage.
