OUR TRUST VALUES

Our Trust is a great place to work and we are keen to ensure that all our employees have the right values in order that we can provide the best service to our patients. These values are very important to us, and as a potential candidate you should be made aware that we test for these throughout the whole assessment/recruitment and selection process, and will only interview and recruit individuals who demonstrate these values through their application and behaviour.

Together We Can

Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust is a leading provider of community nursing, therapy and mental health services to people of all ages throughout our county.

Rated Good by the CQC, with a clearly defined strategy and proven financial track record, we believe that key to maintaining our high standards and meeting the challenges we face is to retain and recruit committed, skilled and motivated staff.

So Together We Can empower you to make changes which will make every day better; we can support you through our health and wellbeing opportunities; and we can continually meet your ambitions through our flexible in-house learning and development programmes.

We believe our staff are our biggest asset. We want to develop a positive, inclusive and caring culture that engages and inspires all our staff, with a clear focus on improvement and advancing equality of opportunity.

Applications are invited to apply for a post within our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in south Worcestershire, to complement the expertise of our existing teams, and following a review of service need and departure of a colleague. You will join other Consultant Psychiatrists, specialty doctors and a highly performing wider multidisciplinary team working across Worcestershire, all with a passion for providing and developing high quality specialist community child and adolescent mental health services.

Worcestershire CAMHS is rated ‘Outstanding’ by CQC, with positive feedback from young people and parents about care and staff. Worcestershire CAMHS has co-produced the national award winning app BESTIE (se link attached), alongside this innovation we have designed group packages and training such as BERT (Brief Emotional Regulation Training) and WRAPP (Wellbeing, Resilience and Positivity Programme for Young People).

We have a number of specialist pathways and services within the overall CAMHS offer including CEDS, CAMHS Plus and Reach4Wellbeing and as an integral part of the Worcestershire Children’s Health Service there are excellent links with the rest of Children’s services, including public health nursing and Community paediatrics.

Worcestershire is committed to the continued development of a responsive, dynamic and flexible mental health service for children and their families. You will be expected to be energetic and imaginative, with excellent leadership and team working skills and will play an integral role in providing and reshaping the service to continue to meet the needs of children and young people who have mental health problems.

Well-being is a priority for the Trust and it is vitally important to the Medical Management within the Trust that newly recruited colleagues are supported and are able to ‘grow’ professionally. Worcestershire is ideal for those looking for a good work life balance with a number of excellent schools and areas of outstanding natural beauty such as the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds. There are also particularly good road links both to Birmingham, London and the South West.

It is essential you meet the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ criteria for appointment to a consultant post. Consideration will also be given to those applicants looking for flexibility with working arrangements. Development of a special interest will also be encouraged.
