Mount Vernon is a large single site Cancer Centre in Hertfordshire, covering Hertfordshire, South Bedfordshire, East Berkshire, South Buckinghamshire, North and west London.

The Centre has a team of expert consultants that work alongside over 160 nursing staff, using the latest technology and treatment modalities available, supported by a Multidisciplinary team of biomedical scientists, physics teams and administrative staff amongst others. Clinical trials are offered and systemic anti-cancer treatments, alongside Radiotherapy, stereotactic and intensity modulated radiotherapy and Radioactive nuclides. We are internationally renowned for radiotherapy, chemotherapy, Brachytherapy and Cyberknife patient support services and research and therefore, you will be joining a cancer centre offering significant career development opportunities.

The lymphoedema out-patient clinic at Mount Vernon cancer centre are looking for a state registered practitioner to join the team caring for over 400 cancer related lymphoedema patients.

 

The clinic assesses patients, plans care after discussion with patients, prioritising self-care measures. We offer measuring for compression garments, neuro muscular taping, Lymphatouch, pneumatic pumps, Hivamat, bandaging and manual lymphatic drainage, all of which we will arrange for you to be trained to use.

 

You will be supported to undertake training in Lymphoedema.

 

We are a forward thinking clinic, keen to develop the service and care we offer patients. Staff are encouraged to update themselves by attending conferences and relevant updates. The service plans to run a preventative clinic and RLD trial, examples of expansion of care within the clinic.

 

The clinic has secretarial and pharmacy support. You will work with additional skilled MVCC staff, such as physios and dieticians, in order to ensure holistic care is delivered to our patients.

Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is a well-respected, non-surgical cancer centre based in Northwood in Middlesex – providing chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy treatments to over 5,000 patients a year. It is currently run by East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust (ENHT) and consistently receives positive patient feedback.


We are seeking to maintain and expand the Cancer Centre staff as we move to an exciting new future.
