The Role


We require a dynamic individual to play a vital role in the Bowel Cancer Screening Team. This role is varied and will involve proactively monitoring and tracking patients on a cancer 28 day faster diagnosis standard (FDS) pathway and also be responsible for monitoring and tracking Bowel Cancer Screening patients on a 62 day pathway. An understanding of national targets with respect to patient pathways is essential.

 

The post holder will also be responsible for the co-ordination of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, including FIT and Bowel Scope across all satellite sites whilst also providing a high quality administrative service to support the Bowel Cancer Screening Service.

 

You will need to be confident, proactive and have excellent written and communication skills. The role is extremely busy and involves working within a pressured environment, therefore excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills are a requirement. Experience of using a variety of IT systems, including the Microsoft Office package is essential. Experience of working in the NHS and a good working knowledge of hospital systems are desirable. An understanding of cancer services is highly desirable.

 

The post will require flexible working within the North East London Bowel Cancer Screening service. The post will be primarily based at Royal London Hospital Whitechapel, however the post holder will need to work at Whipps Cross Hospital, Leytonstone and Homerton Hospital, Hackney as the service requires.
