Service Manager for Gynaecology

The Women’s Directorate comprises a range of outpatient, day case, inpatient, ambulatory, and emergency services, including Fetal Medicine, Fetal Cardiology, Maternity Services (including Maternal Medicine for our high risk women), Fertility, Gynae-oncology, a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic ‘one-stop’ services (including hysteroscopy, colposcopy, and trans-vaginal ultrasound), an Acute Gynaecology Unit, an Early Pregnancy Unit, and many more sub-specialty services that form part of Women’s Services and mark us as a specialist regional centre.

Your role role will entail the day-to-day running of Gynaecology Services in combination with a second Gynaecology Service Manager. There is a strong emphasis upon ‘owning’ your services and therefore managing all dimensions of the service that fall within your portfolio, including the budget, CIP delivery, RTT, performance against activity plan, theatres, ED, flow in and out of the hospital, outpatients, clinical rotas, governance, and so on. But there is also an opportunity and an expectation that you will work supportively and collaboratively with your colleagues in maternity, where it is appropriate to do so.

You will form part of a new operational structure and therefore be an integral part of our work to develop our services further. With this in mind, there will be plenty of opportunity to develop your skills, both as an operational manager 'owning' the day-to-day management of your service and as a strategic leader, working with your colleagues to develop an authentically and sustainably outstanding service.
