Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above post in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at Northampton General Hospital.

This post is to join Specialist Registrar tier on the General Surgery Full Shift Rota.

Contract for 6 months Fixed term +/- extendable – Full time

We offer specialist training in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery, Laparoscopic Benign Upper GI, as well as General and Colorectal Surgery.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work for 4 exclusively Laparoscopic Colorectal Consultant surgeons at Northampton General Hospital.

Depending on previous experience of the successful candidate, this post offers flexible training to suit the training requirements of the applicant where possible, with the ultimate aim of career advancement, gaining laparoscopic colorectal resection experience, and enhancing their CV.

The successful candidate will participate in the General Surgery Specialist Registrar full shift rota comprising of 13 registrar grades.

The contract is a fixed term post for 6 months and extendable depending on satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will be expected to have MRCS. Duties will include the full range of clinical activities, operating lists, endoscopy, outpatient clinics, ward rounds. Emergency care provision in General, Vascular surgery, with a 24 hour dedicated emergency CEPOD list.
