NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is a Special Health Authority and an integral part of the NHS. In addition to providing blood components and donated organs to the NHS, NHSBT, in collaboration with the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford and Bristol conducts world-class research in the fields of transfusion medicine, organ donation, tissues and stem cells. The NHSBT Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) supports the translation of this laboratory research into clinical practice, conducting a range of different studies from large randomised controlled trials to small first in man studies. Our trials are funded from a variety of sources, including the NHSBT R&D Committee and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funding streams.

An opportunity has arisen for an organised and self-motivated individual to join the CTU Data Management Team as a Junior Clinical Trials Data Manager. This post is a 2 year fixed-term position based in Cambridge. The post-holder will be responsible for routine clinical data management activities for one or more clinical trials within the CTU portfolio. Tasks will include data-entry and handling of data queries, working to GCP standards. You will be given full training in our procedures, and the opportunity to develop your skills further, working as part of the project team.

The normal working hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week. The ideal candidate will already have good IT and computing skills and experience of using clinical database systems, such as Macro v4. We are seeking someone who can demonstrate an aptitude for working with clinical data and is capable of paying meticulous attention to detail.
