We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated clinical psychologist to work into Gastroenterology (0.5 wte) and Chronic Fatigue (0.5 wte) services. This is a 6 month temporary post, in the first instance, within the Sheffield Children's Hospital Paediatric Psychology Department.

The Gastroenterology role involves providing psychological assessment and intervention to patients both as in-patients and out-patients. Psychology has been part of the team for a number of years, and is seen as a key intervention in helping many patients adjust and/or recover to significant gastroenterological conditions; from feeding problems to inflammatory bowel disease.

The Chronic Fatigue role involves working alongside medics and occupational therapists to provide a regional service to herlp young people live with and manage their chronic fatigue condition. As a multi-disciplinary service, there is close team working and joint interventions are common. This is a very supportive and highly experienced team.

The post holder will also be expected to work flexibly within the Paediatric Psychology Department as a whole. The Paediatric Psychology Department offers clinical psychology and family therapy input to children and young people with physical health conditions within Sheffield Children's Hospital. This is a long standing and well respected service, and we have excellent working relationships with medical and surgical teams. There is a strong culture of research and training within the department. Enquires about the post or arrangement for informal visits are strongly encouraged.”

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
