CONSULTANT in GASTROENTERLOGY

 

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic individual to join an existing team of ten Gastroenterologists at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust which serves a population of 600,000. The candidate should be on the Specialist Register for Gastroenterology and General (Internal) Medicine, or be within six months of acquiring CCT.

 

We are a body of ten enthusiastic Gastroenterologists each practicing general gastroenterology with sub-specialist interests and are looking for a colleague with sub-speciality training in Nutritional Medicine. We hope to maintain the provision of Nutrition services following the retirement of our current Nutritional sub-specialist Gastroenterologist.

 

We provide a 24/7 GI Bleed rota and acute/emergency Gastroenterology weekend services. Our state of the art Endoscopy Unit was JAG re-accredited in February 2018 and provides BCSP, Bowel Scope, EUS, RFA, Laser, oesophageal physiology, Fibroscan and EMR services in addition to traditional endoscopy services. We have also recently commenced JAG endoscopy training courses for which the consultants act as faculty. We have actively promoted Nurse Specialist training and have fully trained seven nurse endoscopists, four IBD nurses and one specialist Hepatology nurse.
