Would you like to provide a fun and relaxing short break in a safe homely environment to children and young people aged 5-18 years with complex health needs?

We are looking for a full time Band 5 Staff Nurse with experience in caring for Children with complex health needs to join our team at Hannah House.

Hannah House is an inpatient short break facility where we provide quality nursing care. We are a 24 hour service, 365 days a year.

Hannah house has been rated as Good in all areas by CQC

Hannah house provides regular overnight or day short breaks for children who meet the continuing care or health short break criteria. We also care for children that are transitioning from the hospital setting to home, that require Long Term ventilation

We are part of an innovative Community Children's Nursing Service, forward thinking and patient centred continually striving for excellence for our children and families. We promote cross team working and there is potential for you to have the opportunity to spend time in our Children's Community Nursing Team and Home based continuing care/ Health Short Breaks Team as well as supporting the Inclusion Team within schools.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

If you are successful in being offered a position which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service ( DBS) check. The level of check required is dependent upon the position that you have applied for. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48.43 or Standard £30.43) from your salary. There will be no charge if you are enrolled in the DBS Update Service or a current employee of the Trust.

You will be good at problem solving, innovative, with a sound knowledge base, excellent communication skills, ability to work autonomously and as part of a team , prioritising, organising and delegating the workload.
The successful candidate will be someone that shows care and compassion to the children in our care.

Your duties will include

Providing clinical care
Caring for children with are wide range of complex and life limiting illnesses
Children that are on long term ventilation
Assessments and care plans
Liaising with the nurses at your link school and other Multidisciplinary teams involved in the care of the children accessing the unit
Safeguarding children
