Who Our Opportunity is for:

  • We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide excellent secretarial support to the Dermatology Consultants and associated clinicians within the department, as directed by the Team Leader and/or Service Manager.
  • The successful candidate must be able to work using their own initiative, and also as part of a busy team.
  • We are looking for someone who is highly organised, with an attention to detail, and who has the desire to make an important contribution to the effective delivery of administrative services for the benefit of our patients’.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential as the post holder will need to liaise directly with patients, consultants and other hospital staff.
  • A working knowledge of general office procedures and Microsoft packages is required but full training will be given in the use of Medisec and Meditech software.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology would be an advantage.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large district General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital. The Trust has almost 4,000 staff and provides a range of medical services to more than 445,000 patients per year from areas covering Western Cheshire, Ellesmere Port, Neston and North Wales.

If subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975, then a disclosure submission will be made to the Disclosure & Barring service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. The cost of the DBS application is £28 (standard) or £45 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.
