Consultant Paediatrician in Neurodisability

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust

The Paediatric Neurodisability Team based at The Ryegate Children’s Centre, which is part of Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, is recruiting a new Consultant to join the established multi-disciplinary team. The successful applicant will be innovative, dynamic and passionate about delivering excellent care to disabled children.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team focussed on developing new ways of working to meet the increasing demand for Neuro-developmental services. The post holder will have the opportunity to help shape how Neurodisability and Community Paediatric services are provided in Sheffield, along with developing new service pathways to ensure children, young people and families receive the support they need at the right time and at the right level.

There is a regular business, audit and CPD programme, including MDT referrals meetings, peer review and supervision/reflection sessions supported by clinical psychology. The department collaborates in clinical research and hosts the Sheffield Paediatric Disability Distance Learning Course.

Applicants must hold a full licence to practice with the GMC and be on the specialist register.

Applicants must hold a certificate of completion of training (CCT) or be within 6 months of award of CCT at the date of interview.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
