Team Lead Physiotherapist for Thoracic surgery, Pulmonary Endarterectomy (PEA) and Cardiology

Salary: £38,890 – £44,503 per annum Band 7

Job Type: Fixed term 9 months - maternity leave cover

Royal Papworth Hospital is an internationally renowned Cardiothoracic Centre on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with a proven track record of excellence in the delivery of outstanding patient care receiving both local and national referrals. Royal Papworth Hospital a leading cardiothoracic surgery centre and the only centre in the UK to provide a pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) service.

The post-holder will act as lead Physiotherapy clinician in a highly specialised area of Thoracic surgery, PEA and cardiology, to ensure a high quality Physiotherapy service provision to surgical and cardiology patients within the Trust. With support from the Physiotherapy Service Lead and Band 6 Deputy Team Leader, the post-holder will have direct responsibility for co-ordination, provision and development of the Thoracic surgery, PEA and cardiologyPhysiotherapy service. The post holder will report to the Physiotherapy Service Lead.

Candidates will have a BSc Physiotherapy, MSc or Graduate Diploma Physiotherapy, and current HCPC registration. Applicants must demonstrate significant experience in physiotherapeutic management of Thoracic surgery and Cardiology. The applicant must demonstrate robust leadership and people management skills. Essential for this post is relevant post-graduate cardio-respiratory education as well as leading service improvement projects, research and audit. Candidates must be able to work under pressure, be highly motivated and committed to personal and others development, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven organisational skills and experience of teaching.

The post-holder will be expected to participate in late shifts, on call and weekend working, based on a seven day shift pattern.
