Applications are invited for a Post CCT Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Gastroenterology. This post is not accredited for training.

This post is aimed at Paediatricians who are post CCT /equivalent and is interested in Gastroenterology in particular nutrition and who wish to enhance their skills and expertise. It is an exciting opportunity to gain further specialist experience in endoscopy, nutrition including intestinal failure and PN; IBD, coeliac and general gastroenterology and become involved in research in a busy tertiary paediatric gastroenterology centre. There is a strong educational programme within the unit and easy access to good postgraduate medical library facilities. The Paediatric Department at Leeds General Infirmary also encompasses General Paediatrics, Hepatology, Neonatology, Oncology and bone marrow transplant, Neurology, Cardiology, Nephrology and renal transplant, Respiratory Medicine, Community Paediatrics, Paediatric Surgery and PICU.

The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team including 3 consultant paediatric Gastroenterologist and 3 junior doctors initially and will be an integral member of the nutrition support team. The applicant should have completed at least 12 months in a recognised training post in paediatric gastroenterology.

The post will be based at Leeds General Infirmary and is currently available. The duration of the post is 12 months. This post is not part of a formal on call rota.

The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
