We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic individual with appropriate experience to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team within offender healthcare. CHCP CIC currently provides integrated offender healthcare services across HMP Hull and HMP Humber. We deliver a community-based model, bringing clinical expertise to the patients in our care, working closely with the multi-agency workforce.

The post holder will be expected be accountable in own area of clinical responsibility, ensuring the delivery of evidence based clinical interventions and practice for a specialist caseload. To support the service delivery in the provision of assessment and treatment to prisoners with a wide range of primary and secondary mental health needs. You will be expected to work as part of the wider health care team and in conjunction with other professional groups within the prison in supporting prisoners with mental health needs. Promoting a recovery approach and positive attitude to mental health and help to reduce re-offending and potential future risk to the public. The post holder will be a qualified mental health nurse or occupational therapist or social worker, and will work as part of a specialist mental health team within integrated offender health services at HMP Hull/HMP Humber.

You will hold a caseload and will contribute in development and the provision of mental health therapy and support groups for those prisoners with pre-assessed mental health needs. As a mental health worker, care will be supported by the care programme approach and liaison with outside agencies to support discharge planning, and hospital transfer, whilst seeking to reduce stigma and increase access to information about mental health and resources available.
