LeDeR Project Manager/Reviewer

Job Reference: 147-CCG-2394132

Employer:
Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group
Department:
Project Manager
Location:
Marriss House, Wirral
Salary:
£38,890 - £44,503 pa

The post is for a 6 month fixed term/secondment and will be responsible for developing robust quality improvement systems implementing the local and national learning from The Learning Disabilities Mortality Review (LeDeR) Programme and previous work on inequalities in health care for patients with a Learning Disability and/or Autism.

Development of these systems will require working with all partners across Wirral working towards a reduction in the numbers of people with LD dying prematurely.

You will be part of an integrated Health and Social Care team whose purpose is to fulfil the statutory duties and functions associated with quality and safety, (including safeguarding, risk and regulatory processes). The team drives improvement through the development and monitoring of performance around quality and safety, through specialist clinical advice, and through risk management and assurance processes.

The Learning Disabilities Mortality Review (LeDeR) Programme was one of the recommendations from the Confidential Inquiry into premature deaths of people with learning disabilities which reported that for every one person in the general population who dies from a cause of death amenable to good quality care, three people with learning disabilities will do so. One of the key recommendations of CIPOLD was for the greater scrutiny of deaths of people with learning disabilities. In this way, potentially modifiable circumstances leading to a death could be identified and avoided in the future through improvements to health and care services.

Whilst the key function of this role will be to design systems to implement learning, there will also be a role in identification of new learning through supporting completion of LeDeR reviews as demand requires through the period of this term.
