Applicants are invited to apply for a full time consultant interventional neuroradiologist commencing asap. This post is permanent and replacement post following consultant retirement.

The successful applicant will join an existing group of 8 full time consultant neuroradiologists, 4 of whom currently perform interventional neuroradiology (INR). The successful applicant will contribute to the provision of emergency and elective INR investigations and treatments and help to expand the mechanical thrombectomy (MT) service to seven days with ambition for 24/7 MT cover once fully staffed. On call commitment will begin with 1 in 9.

The successful candidate will

  • Contribute to the current endovascular provision for patients presenting with aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage.
  • Contribute towards our aim to expand current mechanical thrombectomy (MT) provision to extended day coverage 7 days per week and ultimately a 24/7 MT service when the department has expanded to support separate INR and DNR rotas Contributes to the diagnostic reporting capacity of the neuroradiology group at UHS.

The successful candidate will be required to have subspecialist training in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology.

Applicants should have a CCT or be on the GMC’s Specialist Register. Applicants who are within six months of obtaining their CCT on the date of the AAC may also apply.

Individuals wishing to apply must be fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and should be either already on or within 6 months of eligibility to be included on the specialist register of the GMC.

The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Consultants (England) 2003.
