The NHS Nightingale Hospital North East is currently recruiting Service Assistants to help with the to support patients. The most important skills are the ability to keep calm under pressure, have a real empathy for people who need support and be ready to put a patient’s welfare first in what are unprecedented times.

We have a number of roles starting ASAP needed fora 3 month fixed term contract.

Please note to work on this site you will need to commit to a shift pattern as services will run 24 hours, 7 days per week

This roles duties & responsibilities include: -

  • To provide a clean and safe environment for patients and colleagues
  • Keeping the hospital clean and tidy and reporting any faults
  • Ensuring all equipment used is fully maintained, cleaned and stored appropriately
  • To use resources efficiently and effectively for each cleaning task
  • To carry out general catering duties, including cleaning tasks, washing pans, utensils, crockery, cutlery, equipment, floors, etc. This may include the use of machinery, e.g. dishwasher, floor scrubber/dryers, etc.
  • To assist in some basic food preparation duties which may be carried out in a chilled environment.
  • To receive and correctly store a range of catering products, i.e. frozen and chilled food, tinned and dried goods. This includes assisting in the packaging of frozen, chilled food.

 

The key skills and knowledge they are looking for: -

  • Both written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures
  • Pay attention to detail
  • Work as part of a team
  • Take responsibility for your own work
  • Be able to work unsupervised

 

These roles are essential in the fight against infection and you will receive the highest level of training to be able to complete the job. You will also be provided with full personal protective equipment (PPE) to help protect you against infection. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

The NHS Nightingale Hospital NE will be located at Washington's innovation centre at the International Advanced Manufacturing Park, just off the A19, however you may be required to work at various sites within the CNTW NHS Foundation Trust Group, therefore must be able to meet the mobility requirements of the role.

This is a NTW Solutions Ltd Band A role and the hourly pay is £9.30 an hour.
