Consultant Neurologist

The Paediatric Neurology Team are looking for a new team member who is innovative, dynamic and passionate about delivering excellent care.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an expanding Neurology paediatric team who are passionate about developing new ways of working to meet the increasing demand for developmental services. The team encourages development of sub-speciality interests and the post-holder would be encouraged to further develop their own special interest, with time available in the job plan for this. There are likely to be further changes in staffing within the team over the next few years so any special interest can be accommodated.

The post-holder will take part in the on-call rota on a 1:6 basis – a Consultant of the Week mechanism is in place which allows for dedicated time to delivery of acute in-patient care.

There is a weekly departmental CPD programme including complex neurology and complex epilepsy MDTs, neuroradiology and EEG MDT meetings as well as monthly team business meetings and regular neurogenetic MDT meetings. Applicants must hold a full licence to practice with the GMC and be on the specialist register.

Applicants must be a holder of a certificate of completed training (CCT) or be within 6 months of award of CCT at the date of interview.
