An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Engineering Support Technician within our Medical Engineering Department to support the delivery of medical device maintenance services within the company’s Managed Equipment Services (MES) to Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful applicant will be confident and self-motivated and will join our busy team providing a full equipment management service on a wide range of medical devices covering both acute and community settings. This includes deployment, installation, planned preventative maintenance, repair, fault diagnosis, calibration and commissioning of a diverse selection of medical devices.

You must be qualified to National Certificate, A-level or hold a Level 3 equivalent qualification and be able to demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach to working in a clinical environment. Practical skills in electronic repair and maintenance are desirable as you will be working on various types of medical equipment including infusion devices, communications systems, theatre and oxygen therapy equipment. Experience in fault-finding techniques of medical electronic equipment is desirable. Experience of working with IT systems and networking would also be an advantage.

A full UK car driving license is essential as this post may involve driving to our external customers‘ premises within the surrounding areas (transport will be provided).

You will also need to be confident in using IT applications such as Word, Excel & Outlook.
