Are you an experienced dietitian with an interest in Paediatric Diabetes? If so this is an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills.

Due to maternity leave of the post holder an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Dietitian to join our friendly Nutrition and Dietetics Paediatric Team, based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on a fixed term basis. We are a fully integrated department comprising of 15 Dietitians, 2 Dietetic Assistant Practitioners, 3 specialist Nutrition Nurses and 3 Clerical Officers.

Skills required for the job:

  • Degree or post graduate diploma in Dietetics as well as HCPC registration

  • Post registration experience in NHS Paediatrics ideally in areas of nutrition support, allergy and diabetes.

    You will be responsible for providing a general dietetic service to the paediatric population of Gateshead including allergy, HEF and Diabetes, with a particular focus on diabetes. This post is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and will involve providing services into a range of settings within Gateshead as well as outpatient clinics and telephone clinics.

    All Dietitians are actively involved in student training and take students from Leeds Becketts University and Teesside University. As a department we will support your individual personal development via CPD opportunities and clinical supervision.

    Gateshead is situated on the south bank of the river Tyne, close to Newcastle and benefits from the amenities of this vibrant city. Gateshead has many of its own attractions, such as the Sage, the Baltic Art Galleries, the Angel of the North and the Metro Centre. It is also close to Hadrian’s Wall and the beautiful Northumbrian coast and countryside.
