The core hours for this post will be 0800-1600 Monday – Friday. There may be some scope for negotiation around the core hours.

We are looking for a dynamic, well organised person to provide secretarial and administrative support and work as part of a team of specialist safeguarding children nurses and administration staff based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary

You will need to have proven secretarial and IT skills, and preferably an NHS background.

You will also be responsible for supporting our busy team in the administration of safeguarding children cases on a day-to-day basis, including entry of data on electronic systems, managing telephone calls and training activities and you will be able to effectively communicate with a wide range of people, including clinical staff, social workers and the police. The successful candidate will be required to work on their own initiative on a daily basis and will be required to action queries on behalf of the safeguarding team.

To be successful in this role you will have relevant experience in a similar secretarial role together with RSA II qualification (or equivalent experience). We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of Microsoft Office packages, high level organisational skills and an ability to manage competing priorities. Above all you will be motivated and hard working with an ability to work as part of our core team.
