We provide healthcare services to people living in Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf county borough areas, serving a population of around 450,000. We are ideally situated between Wales’s capital city, Porthcawl to the west, and the stunning scenery in the Beacon Beacons to the north.

The Medicines Management Directorate has an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Assistant Technical Officer to join our Patient Services team based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

Our ATOs are valued members of the Pharmacy team and this new role will be developed further to support the Pharmacy staff working at ward level. You will gain experience across a variety of specialities, working closely with Technicians and pharmacists to deliver a high quality, patient focussed medicines management service.

You Must Possess Excellent Communication And Organisational Skills In Order To Provide an Efficient And Safe Pharmacy Service For Patients In These Busy Environments.

We are committed To the Development Of our staff and Can Offer Excellent In House Training Where You Will Be Supported and Encouraged to Further Develop Your Skills in New and Diverse Roles.

Applicants Must Have an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Service skills / Pharmaceutical Sciences. English and Mathematics GCSE to a level C or above and competency with computers is desirable.


The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
