Gynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist (cancer care) – Women’s Health Unit

Part time: 30 HOURS PER WEEK - Fixed Term/ secondment for 12 months, from July 2020, covering maternity leave

SALARY RANGE: £30,401 - £37,267 per annum (pro rata for part time) (Band 6)

The Women’s Health Unit at Chesterfield Royal Hospital is a busy multi-purpose unit, caring for women undergoing a variety of out-patient, in-patient and emergency gynaecological procedures. We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist, with experience in oncology/gynaecology whose primary focus will be to support patients diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer. We are looking for an individual who has excellent communication skills and puts the patient at the heart of all they do.

Working in partnership with the Matron, you will also have the opportunity to develop managerial and clinical skills and will help maintain an environment, where high quality care is delivered. In addition you will provide leadership and be a positive role model for other team members.

This role provides an opportunity to work alongside a dedicated Multi-disciplinary team, within an established setting where you will be encouraged and supported to develop the service.

This post will require a Disclosure & Barring Service check.

Please note that successful external candidates will be required to pay for their own DBS Disclosure. The current price of a check is £44 for an enhanced check and £26 for a standard check. This role is part of the integrated health and social care community across Derbyshire, where there are many opportunities to work across different locations and providers developing new and different skills. Whilst this role is initially based in Chesterfield there may be future opportunities to be based at different locations within the health and social care community which we may talk to you about in the future.
