Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire and Sefton area. The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,000 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites.

Pharmacy Assistant

Band 3 – South Cumbria

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Grade: Band 3

Salary: £18,813 – £20,795


We are really excited to be able to offer the opportunity to become part of our Pharmacy team in South Cumbria. You would be working closely with a Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacists to manage medicines within our inpatient service.

We would like to invite applications for a Band 3 Pharmacy Support Worker (assistant) who has an interest in mental health and a desire to contribute to a safe and efficient service within our mental health inpatient setting based at Dane Garth, Furness General Hospital, South Cumbria.

You will have the NVQ2 in pharmacy services or equivalent and be enthusiastic and conscientious. Previous experience in mental health would be desirable but not essential.

You will work closely with the Pharmacy Technician to manage the stocks of medicines on the wards. The role will include; stock checks and subsequent ordering, receipt and delivery of medicines to individual wards, ensuring an audit trail of all medicines delivered.

You will have a logical approach to tasks and be able to manage your own time.
