Permanent
Location: Oxleas House, Greenwich
Hours of work: Full Time 37.50 hours per week

We are looking to recruit experienced mental health Band 6 nurses to join us in Greenwich within our new Health Based Place of Safety (s136 suite). The service is based at Oxleas House, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where the Greenwich adult inpatient wards have been rated as ‘Outstanding’ for caring following our latest CQC inspection.

The postholders will be part of a new team working 24/7 to provide a high quality and dedicated specialist service to those in mental health crisis. The successful candidates will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills, clinical expertise, a flexible problem solving approach and to take part in Quality Improvement projects to improve patient care. You will be expected to work collaboratively as part of the Health Based Place of Safety team and wider team working in Oxleas House. Our future plans include development of a Psychiatric Decision Unit (PDU) as part of our crisis pathway. Successful postholders will be expected to work within the PDU as well as the acute care crisis pathway within Oxleas.

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust has worked towards creating a centralised two bedded Health Based Place of Safety following a London wide review of provision of Health Based Places of Safety. The new purpose built unit is currently being developed by our estates team and aims to open in April 2020.

Please note, Oxleas operates a probationary period, further information available on request.
