Senior Clinical Fellow ( Post CCT) in Sub-fertility & Assisted Conception

The advertised post of Senior Clinical Fellow (Registrar) in Sub-fertility & Assisted Conception is to start in August 2020 on a full-time basis for twelve months with a possibility of an extension after this time.

The post offers an excellent opportunity to gain clinical experience in all aspects of fertility management and assisted conception in a highly successful tertiary level fertility unit. Gateshead Fertility Unit situated in purpose built premises in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead has an excellent reputation and consistently produces success rates amongst the highest in the region. The successful candidate will develop skills necessary to perform the full range of assisted conception procedures including transvaginal scanning for follicular monitoring, intra-uterine insemination, trans-vaginal egg collection and embryo transfer as well as the management of patients with fertility problems at a secondary care level.

The post is ideally suited for a candidate who has been awarded the certificate of completion of training (CCT) and preferably the Advanced Training Skills Modules (ATSM) in subfertility and Reproductive medicine

Although this post cannot be counted towards specialist training requirements, the post holder will have a named consultant as Educational supervisor and will have full access to appropriate study leave, annual leave and educational opportunities, as available to other training post holders in the department.

This is a full time post and contribution to the tier 2 on call system as part of a full shift system is expected. For full details of the post and the department, please see the attached document.
