We are seeking a Children’s Speech and Language Therapist who has experience of working with children with a wide range of communication difficulties, and enjoys working in community settings. You will join our dynamic and supportive Community team based at The Den, Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

The post involves:

  • Being based in the community and seeing children in a variety of settings including clinic, schools, nurseries
  • Providing a flexible and comprehensive therapy service to the designated area
  • Independently carrying out assessment and appropriate intervention for children with SLCN
  • Providing information, advice and training to parents/carers and other key support staff
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team with families and staff to support children with a variety of communication difficulties.
  • Supporting service development projects including audit and patient feedback projects.

You will:

Be a reflective practitioner who works well in a team and has good time management, organisation and communication skills.

We will provide regular support, clinical supervision and the opportunity to further develop your clinical skills through “in house training programmes” and externally funded courses and development opportunities.

Additional temporary sessions may also be available to cover maternity leave posts in 2020.
