As an employer of nearly 5,000 staff, West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust is the place to be. Having have been shortlisted over the last three years for 18 national people related awards and most recently winning the Nursing Times award for Best UK Employer 2019 we are immensely proud of our achievements.

We have lots to shout about! Despite having lots of challenges, we’ve worked really hard to make West Herts a great place to work. The good news is we’re really starting to see the results of our efforts. We’re one of the few NHS organisations across the UK to have achieved a phenomenal 0% nurse vacancy rate within our adult inpatient areas. We have also recently secured over £450m capital funding to transform our sites and give our patients and colleagues within #teamwestherts the working environment they deserve.

We are currently looking for Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapists to join the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust therapy team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic integrated Inpatient Therapy Service that includes rotations at Watford General Hospital, St Albans City Hospital and Jacketts Field, Abbots Langley.

You will work on a four-monthly rotational basis across the following settings:

  • Surgery
  • Respiratory / ITU
  • Medical
  • Care of the Elderly
  • Acute Stroke
  • Orthopaedics
  • MSK outpatients
  • Paediatrics

The successful candidates will join a growing integrated team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. Our department has a well-established preceptorship, supervision and appraisal structure, as well as a robust in-service training and induction programme.

The post-holder will be required to work as part of the 7 day rota, working a frequency of 1:4 - 1:6 weekends, with rest days taken in the following week. The post holder will also be part of the respiratory on-call rota, which is underpinned by a teaching and competency programme

Watford General is a busy district general hospital and is forward thinking as to how best to develop services to benefit patient care. It is well situated for access to the main motorways (M25 and M1) and has fast train links in to central London. The town centre has a wide range of shops and restaurants and it is also surrounded by some beautiful countryside and open spaces.

If you would like to be part of a friendly, forward thinking Inpatient Therapy Department, please apply.
