Advanced Practitioner Radiographer Band 6 – Full time posts

We are looking for experienced senior MRI and CT trained radiographers toassist in the timely, efficient and cost effective management and operation of the cross sectional imaging service on a daily basis. You will demonstrate a problem-solving approach to issues arising at a local level, evaluating the need to refer problems to the superintendents and you will contribute to standard setting and policy formation within both MRI and CT.

The role will suit an experienced MRI and CT trained radiographer looking to expand their leadership and managerial responsibilities; cardiac MRI experience is also desirable. In addition to the day to day responsibilities we can offer the opportunity to gain experience in a forthcoming MR equipment replacement program from the procurement stage though to service delivery. You will also have an influential role in the future expansion of the MRI service.

The MRI department at Gloucestershire Hospitals consists of 3 x 1.5T MRI scanners across two sites performing in the region of 20,000 exams per year.

It undertakes a wide spectrum of MR examinations, including neuro, MSK, oncology and paediatric GA cases. In addition, the department will undertake MRI on individuals with active MR conditionally safe implants. The caseload within the MRI department is complex and varied.

Shift and On-Call from home duties are an essential part of this role in order to provide a comprehensive 24 hour, 365 day a year service in MRI, CT and X-Ray services. You will be working a variety of shifts in order to meet this commitment together with out of hours working.

To show appreciation for your skills and experience, we would like to offer you a payment of £2000 on top of your salary after 2 months of working with us. And to further demonstrate our commitment to your career, you will receive an additional payment of £1000 after 10 months’ service (* please see below for T&Cs).

The Radiology Directorate manages Radiology Services on ten sites across Gloucestershire. We are the second largest directorate in the South West of England offering a broad range of sub-specialty work including adult and paediatric radiography, trauma and orthopaedic examinations, mobile imaging, general radiography, cardiac and interventional procedures, digital fluoroscopy, CT scanning, MRI and Ultrasound. The Directorate is innovative in developing the service whilst remaining responsive to the needs of patients and ensuring the support, development and education of all of our staff. CPD is actively encouraged and there are opportunities to learn additional skills in all modalities to ensure that you feel fulfilled in your role.

*Payments will be pro-rata for part time colleagues. Applicants must not have been employed by us for a period of at least 3 months before applying for this position.
