IT Service Desk - Desktop Support

An opportunity has arisen within the Trust for a Desktop Support Engineer based at Trust HQ, Exeter

The Trust provides IT support to its entire staff (over 4,000) and is looking for enthusiastic and courteous staff that would be able to offer excellent Customer Service to our non-technical users.

The successful candidate will carry out first line support on the Trust’s Service Desk, providing on-site support for desktop technology incidents and assist with the maintenance and deployment of computerised hardware and software systems. They will be required to work with the Exeter team to cover standard office hours, and will be expected to be able to deal with telephone calls, emails and personal visits from within the Trust.

The role will need to provide basic support of IM&T systems and services throughout the Trust, to support first class patient care. They will need to be familiar with Service Desk procedures and be able to log all activity on Service Desk applications. Training in the ITIL methodology will be provided.

Applicants must have GCSE’s (Grade C or above) or equivalent, including English and Mathematics. You will need excellent communication and customer service skills as well as an excellent understanding and previous experience of supporting current Microsoft Office, Windows Operating Systems and desktop hardware.

Travel to Trust sites is part of the role, so a current valid driving license is required.
