Band 5 - School Staff Nurse

Children Family Health Surrey are developing their school nursing workforce and are offering  Band 5 positions that will be a gateway onto sponsorship for the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (school nursing) .We are looking for enthusiastic nurses from a variety of backgrounds and experience to join our 0-19 teams. Our 0-19 teams are innovative, enthusiastic and motivated to deliver the best health outcomes for children and young people living in Surrey. We are seeking individuals who are compassionate and who are courageous in innovation and always ready to have a go.

In this role you will be supported by our Clinical Specialists / Team Leaders, Service Managers and Safeguarding service to provide excellent practice and develop your skills and knowledge. You will work predominantly with school-age children and young people. We have an excellent preceptorship model to support newly qualified nurses. We are committed to professional development, have an invigorating training plan and an active school nurses forum. 

Duties:

  • Completing health assessments
  • Running enuresis clinics
  • Providing classroom teaching
  • Providing secondary school drop Ins
  • Holding a safeguarding caseload
  • Promoting school based immunisations
  • Ensuring safe pathways of care for children in school with more complex medical conditions
  • Seeking to make the support that families receive as beneficial and positive an experience for them as possible
  • Committed to provide best outcomes for children through delivery of the Healthy Child Programme
  • Communicate effectively with our partners to work towards the best outcomes for children and their families.

Recruitment - Golden Hello

Successful applicants, who have not worked for CSH within the last 12 months, will receive an amount of £2000 paid in two instalments: - £1000 upon commencement and a further £1000 following successful completion of probation. These payments are pro-rata for part- time posts.
