Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1m people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We have an opportunity for individuals to join our team working on our female only ward, Heather Ward at the Bradgate Mental Health unit. Heather ward provides care to vulnerable ladies within the community of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland experiencing mental health mental health difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, psychosis, personality disorders and substance misuse. The client group will include some individuals who are likely to present with volatile and challenging behaviours.

The ward work closely alongside the multidisciplinary team sharing innovative ideas enhancing the patient experience. Staff and patients work collaboratively in co-producing their recovery plans to ensure their transition back in to the community is supported by the care team. Heather ward work cohesively in their approach to providing patient care and positive outcomes for both staff and patients. The staff team are passionate about creating high quality, compassionate care and wellbeing for all.

Working in an all-female environment can at times be challenging but equally as rewarding, staff management of the complex needs of our patient group is supported through the work with the onward psychological therapist. They provide reflective practice and psychoeducation groups to equip the staff with the necessary tools, skills and knowledge to ensure they are competent to manage the complexities within an all -female environment. As well as the support through the psychological group staff also receive clinical and safeguarding supervision which is provided by the leadership team on the ward on a monthly basis.

Heather ward has a wealth of occupational based therapies on the ward offering a range of recovery focused therapeutic activities supporting the patient’s journey to recovery. There is also the opportunity for staff to engage in the health and wellbeing sessions provided by the onward therapeutic liaison worker and staff within the unit.

We provide a service to our patients 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, so we are looking for flexible people who are able to work rotational shifts.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date. We will consider requests to vary working patterns in line with our flexible working policy.
