For over four decades Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity have provided outstanding end of lifecare to its community and its services have made a huge impact on many families lives across Hampshire.

The journey towards end of life can be a complex one. Medical advances and changes in family lives mean that the care we provide to our patients and their families constantly evolves to meet the needs and expectations of our Community. Over the last year, Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Countess Mountbatten Hospice Southampton, have developed a unique partnership, with one senior team leading both organisations.

At Countess Mountbatten Hospice we pride ourselves on delivering the highest standard of care and support to patients and their families, and constantly strive to ensure we reach as many people as possible, whenever and wherever they may need us. The hospice serves a population of approximately 600,000 and covers Southampton, and parts of West Hampshire. We are a registered charity and company, with our community at the heart of our services.

Currently we have a 25 bedded In-Patient Unit (IPU), a large day, self-help and rehabilitation centre, a community nursing team, Psychosocial care & Bereavement service and an education team. However, our services and approach to care are being constantly developed and expanded to meet the growing demands of increasingly complex health issues and the needs of the community we serve.


37.5 hour per week to be worked on a rota basis

£20,000.00 per annum

About the Role:

As our new Domestic Supervisor you will lead our newly created Housekeeping team in the delivery of an outstanding housekeeping and laundry service for Mountbatten Hampshire's patients, visitors and employees,

You will support your team to achieve the highest standards of cleanliness across the Hospice to comply with our Infection prevention and control procedures.

About you:

As our new Domestic Supervisor you will be a motivated team leader with previous experience of leading a team ideally gained within the Hospital/Hospice or Care Sector although specific training will be provided in our procedures and standards.

As this role will involve providing housekeeping services to our clinical areas, confidentiality must always be maintained, and the successful candidates will be required to ensure they work in a sensitive, compassionate and professional manner.

The successful candidate will have good communication skills and be a team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision, once full training has been completed.
