An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time (22.5 hours over 3 full days) GPHC registered or pending registration Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly Pharmacy team at Bronglais General Hospital.

We are looking for a highly committed, motivated and conscientious Pharmacy Technician to provide and further develop the pharmacy service.

Bronglais General Hospital is a busy District General Hospital with approximately 170 beds.

The specialties provided by the hospital include, general medicine and surgery, intensive care, acute stroke, coronary care, women's and children's health, orthopaedics and paediatrics.

The successful candidates will perform a range of activities including, working as part of our ward based clinical pharmacy teams and supporting the various functions in the dispensary, stores and procurement. The department provides a comprehensive medicines management service to the wards and uses the All Wales Electronic Discharge System (MteD).

You will also be expected to support, coordinate and prepare the supply of aseptically prepared products for use in the Haematology and Oncology Day Unit. You will have key input into the rigorous monitoring and validation programme required to meet national standards.

You must be able to work in a busy and demanding working environment and must be flexible towards the needs of the service.

It is essential that you have a Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills/NVQ or NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services Certificate or equivalent qualification and must be registered or pending registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician. Prior hospital experience is desirable but not essential for this post.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
