Band 5 Staff Nurse, Swindon Intermediate Care Centre.

Permanent roles; Full time and Part time

The Swindon Intermediate Care Centre is a modern 60 bedded unit working across two wards, Forest and Orchard Wards.

Forest Ward specialises in Stroke, Younger Persons Neuro and Trauma Rehabilitation. Orchard Ward specialises in complex discharge planning.

At SWICC, we are on an exciting journey to invest in our high quality and patient centered service and we are looking for enthusiastic and talented professionals to join us.

You will be a caring and compassionate nurse with a passion for working with patients who often have complex health and social care needs and their families, to enable them to become as independent as possible and return home. Both experienced and newly qualified nurses can gain excellent experience and skills in this challenging environment with the guaranteed opportunity to develop existing skills or to upskill and learn new areas of expertise. As a team we actively encourage and support continuing professional development in all areas. The SWICC Wards team includes a dedicated therapy team with whom we work closely to provide the best patient outcomes and so it’s essential that you are a great team player who enjoys working as part of a larger multidisciplinary team! You will be an excellent communicator with a passion for high quality care and able to motivate and mentor others.

All new starters with the Trust will be subject to a six month probationary period, with the exception of medical and dental candidates.

Current employees should be aware that this position is advertised as a GWH position and appointment ends any TUPE protection.

All candidates are required to pay for their own DBS check where applicable. Standard DBS check costs £26 and will be recovered from your first pay; Enhanced DBS check costs £44 and will be split and recovered over the first 2 pay.

Bank posts requiring a DBS check; payment must be made prior to commencing.

Apprentices are exempt from payment.
