Advert:Lead Nurse Specialist for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infection (HCAI) – Primary and Community Care

Pay Band: 8b

Division: Health Protection, Public Health Wales

We are looking for a dynamic enthusiastic and experienced Infection Prevention and Control specialist nurse for this new and exciting role. The post holder will lead and shape the implementation of a unified work plan for primary and community care for the delivery of the Healthcare Associated Infection elements of the UK 5 year National Action Plan for antimicrobial resistance as part of the Healthcare Associated Infection, Antimicrobial Resistance & Prescribing Programme (HARP) team. We are looking for an autonomous practitioner with significant skill in effective leadership, strategic and professional management. Effective communication is essential to drive forward the agenda and to work confidently in partnership with NHS teams and other stakeholder’s e.g. local authority, nursing/residential homes, other Health and Social Care providers. You will be primarily be based at PHW offices, Capital Quarter 2, Cardiff, however, it will be necessary to work and travel to other locations within Wales, to ensure the needs of the service and role are met. I
