We are looking for a Speech & Language Therapy Assistant to join our Early Years Paediatric team.

These sessions are available to work alongside speech and language therapist working with children on the early years caseload. The role involves supporting therapists through carrying out therapy on an individual basis, running group sessions as well as working as part of a multidisciplinary team. In addition the role requires the successful candidate to deliver training to parents and other professionals..

The successful candidate will have experience of working with pre-school children with a range of complex developmental needs. Experience of working pre-school children on the autism spectrum is essential. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate well developed collaborative working practise and the ability to work flexibly.

Provide input to a diverse population of pre-school children in a range of settings including nurseries, the child’s home and clinics including working with children both individually and within groups.

The post holder will be responsible to the Early Years Team Leaders.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
