The induction programme is for all new staff and the length is dependent on the role you will be undertaking. It is an essential part of new staff training requirements and therefore attendance is mandatory.

Successful candidates will be invited to an Assessment Day on Friday 17th April 2020 held in St Austell. Please note this will be either a morning or afternoon session to be confirmed.

Cornwall has excitingly been commissioned by NHS England to design and build a purpose built Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit on the Bodmin Hospital site and it is now open. The unit has 14 beds for 13 -18 year olds, including a High Dependency Unit.

We are striving for our unit to be innovative, creative and family focused. We are inspired by some of the best practice and emerging evidence base from around the country and are not afraid to trial some new and original thinking for the benefit of our young people. We are looking for imaginative and playful individuals that are motivated by the opportunities and challenges of developing what we hope will be a gold standard unit.

We are looking for Flexible staff and workers who wish to help support patients and colleagues within the unit with either ad hoc or a flexibly contracted hours via our internal Flexi Team.

Due to the nature of the ward, successful candidates will have experience in or be prepared to learn how to appropriately manage challenging behaviours and highly stressful, emotive circumstances.

We are looking for individuals that are good under pressure; place high worth in team based working and with an unrelenting passion and dedication for working with young people and their families.
