111 Operations Centre

General Practitioners (GP)

 

Salary: Earn up to £85 per hour

Hours: We currently have contracts available for General Practitioners. The sessions are based on a 24hr rota, with the majority of requirements around evenings and weekend working. We are able to accommodate a variety of working hours and shift lengths to suit.

Our award-winning, high performing ambulance service is about to embark on an exciting journey providing the NHS 111 service across the majority of the West Midlands region.

To further build on the current 111 model with increased focus on integration, improved patient experienceand outcomes to ensure that our patients receive the excellent standard of care that we strive to deliverwithin our Trust, we are asking GMC Registered General Practitioners who also share this passion for patient care to join us and help us to achieve our vision.

Based at our Operations Centres on the outskirts of Birmingham you will use your clinical judgement and critical thinking to identify and provide the best clinical advice to our patients over the telephone. Dependant on their individual needs you will also enable them to access the most appropriate source of care, completing ongoing referrals where necessary. You will also provide advice and guidance to our Call Assessors, Clinical Advisors and other clinicians within your area of expertise.

You must be able to work well under pressure, have excellent communication skills in addition to having a wealth of clinical experience.

Full training on the online triage system will be provided to you and all employees will be on NHS Terms & Conditions and the wide range of benefits associated with this including a minimum of 27 days annual leave (pro rata for part time hours), competitive salaries, excellent pension scheme and hundreds of staff discount opportunities.

Successful candidates will have to be able to commit to 2 days training which will run on consecutive days in the same week. You will then have a period of observation and mentor support and will then have to be signed off on 10 calls before being able to work independently.
