ICT Server Engineer

An opportunity has arisen for a Server Engineer to be based at St James, Bristol.

The post holder, alongside the other member of the server team, will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the Trusts server environment, to include moves, changes, break/fix and decommissioning of physical assets. The role requires a good knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2008R2 to 2019), Microsoft Hyper-V, server and storage hardware, and an understanding of networking technologies.

This post will be reporting to the Data Centre Manager.

The role will provide support to all areas of the Trust so good interpersonal skills are essential.

The role includes –

  • Responsibility for installation and maintenance of the server estate

    • Includes assisting with installs, moves, changes, break/fix and decommissioning of physical assets

  • Providing 2nd line desktop, server and system support

  • Supporting the testing and commissioning of new services

  • Ensuring that all systems have appropriate support documentation

    Applicants should have, or be working towards, Microsoft qualifications. Experience in SCCM and SQL server support and maintenance will be an advantage.

*There will be an expectation to join the on call rota that would attract an additional 4.5% salary uplift at the current rate
